This Is What I Wanna See | This Is What I Wanna See is a documentary project celebrating the beauty, intimacy, and raw emotion of the New York ballroom scene. Growing up, I longed for a place to call home—a space where my queer and trans identity felt truly seen and embraced. For me, that place became the ballroom.

From watching clips of ballroom legends late at night as a teenager to now walking the balls myself, the scene has shaped me. It’s more than voguing; it’s love, care, and community. In this project, I’ve captured practices, balls, and quiet behind-the-scenes moments with people who’ve become my family. My connection to this world gives me a unique perspective—I know the crash of the beat, the rhythm of the movement, and the heart of those I photograph.

Inspired by the Legendary Kevin JZ Prodigy’s iconic phrase, This Is What I Wanna See is my love letter to the ballroom scene—a place that deserves to be seen and celebrated.
